We Value what you Value

Let's start with a bit of a story.

When Phillip started the company in 2000, he had just completed the sale of a dot-com company. He even made a little money. Not enough to stop working, but enough that he felt ready to make a change. He didn't want to be part of the same venture financed web start up world he'd been through in the dot-com days. Nor did he want to return to ad agency days where he always felt like a used car salesman.

Instead, Phillip chose a riskier route. He decided to found a company that was based on the idea he had -  that technology could create social progress. Technology could actually support the progressive values he believed in. Naturally, this meant a lot of work with non-profits and government but it meant making a difference. He also happens to be a pretty upstanding guy in the honesty and integrity department, so that didn't hurt when it came to attracting the kinds of clients we work with now.

Since then, the idea of a "social entrepreneur" has taken hold and Phillip's vision of Agentic is just that - a company dedicated to continuing social progress through technology. Even the name Agentic is about the notion of change - to be Agentic is to believe in "human agency" and to understand that is to believe in the better part of choice. People can make a positive difference when given a chance.

It's meant Phillip turns down as much work as he takes on, but it's meant a stellar experience for the organizations that do work with us. It doesn't mean that we don't work with for profit companies either, but we really love the ones with a social values focus. Heck, we're for profit, and we think that's a good thing. Without profit, you can't be sustainable for anyone.

For all of us at Agentic, working here has meant making a difference.
